"A Father's Heart"

My heart was drawn to the father.  I painted him sitting on his garden wall, looking off into the distance, yearning for his son's return.  The mood is somber.  The sky is gray.  He has waited a long time.  It is Autumn, the last of the leaves are falling.  The bird flying away is symbolic of the son who has flown away.  This father's heart is heavy, but he never gives up hope.

In the same way, our heavenly Father waits for each of us to return to His loving care.  He never gives up on any of us.
